Giant Moso Bamboo-(Phyllostachys pubescens) which is the giant bamboo that is able to grow in colder climates and are known as the timber bamboos because of their large size and great strength. A Giant in all respects with blue green canes and dense foilage. Moso Bamboo stalks are considered among the biggest and most beautiful. Growing diameter ranges between 3-7 inches and can get over 6o feet tall. Native to China and Japan they have many uses. They are harvested to make many products including furniture and structural support for houses. This variety can grow in zones 6-10. But is ideal for zones 9 and 10. They grow slow at first but can get a few feet long in a matter of months once they are established. Can withstand temperatures of zero degrees once established.
